“Fresh Fish, Cod and Nutrition” – Debate with Nutricionists

  • Lillian Barros

Nutritionist and a national leader in professional nutrition. She was born in Canada but from an early age she has lived in Portugal and considers herself Portuguese through and through. She grew up in the Algarve, but since 2000 she has spent most of her time in Lisbon.

A graduate in Nutritional Sciences from the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Egas Moniz, during her acad

emic career, her desire to grow took her to the United Kingdom, where she attended a course in Nutrition and Food Science at the prestigious Oxford Brookes University.
Passionate about the profession, a pioneer of detox juices and diets in Portugal and with two published works on the subject, Lillian is currently accompanying large numbers of people in the search for an appropriate weight, a more balanced life and a healthier and detoxified body.

After being diagnosed with sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease, and having undergone various drug treatments, she realised that weight is merely a reflection of our “balance” and that with nutrition we can make a huge difference to our health, as well as our weight.
Her nutritional assistance has a 100% personalised perspective, oriented to reach the personal objectives of each patient, to create new habits and to find sustainable and lasting solutions.

She currently distributes her professional activity between Lisbon and the Algarve, where she has her offices. She is the founder of Nutricionistas Online(www.nutricionistasonline.com) and collaborator of the programme Faz Sentido (“Makes Sense”) on the channel SIC Mulher, with the item Saúde em Estado Líquido (“Health in Liquid State”).

She is the author of the blog Santa Melancia, where she shares several recipes, tips and lets of steam about her life as a mother, woman and nutritionist.
